The Giesel's New Home (maybe)

Greetings from California!

Thomas and I have been house hunting, and here is the house we're looking to buy. There are few things we're hoping the seller will take care of, but if all goes well, we'll be in by January!

Welcome to 318 Festival!

This is the front door looking west, onto the neighbors and Camp Pendleton is at the hills beyond the houses.

Once you walk in, you enter the living room. To the right is the garage and bedrooms, straight ahead is the kitchen.

Here is the view from the living room into the kitchen.

Here's the eating area/kitchen...

The backyard, in either direction.

I took 76 pictures, but this just covers the basics. Hope you all enjoy, and hopefully my parents can figure out how to see them!!

Jodi Retires!!!

After 10 long and grueling years at the Egyptian Health Department, I am retiring from the position of Director of Behavioral Health. I've accepted teaching positions from 3 places, Mid-Continent University, Southeastern Illinois College and National American University. Right now, I'll be teaching courses online (Group Dynamics, Intro to Psych, Marriage & Family, and Organizational Psychology) and face-to-face courses (Intro to Psych and Group Dynamics).

I'm very excited about my new challenge, since I will be able to finally take part in the rearing of my children, instead of having everyone else do it. Many people have tried to convince me that I won't like the slowing of pace, but not having to travel to Chicago 3 times a year, Springfield once a month, Bloomington too often, and Mt. Vernon every week, I think I can get used to the fact I can finally relax and let my education pay off.

As for the dissertation, I am still working on it. The whole IRB approval system is a load of crap, but I suppose it is for my protection. It is frustrating, but I'll get through it.

Thanks Katie for setting up this site for us.
Congratulations to you and Donald! What do we call him, Don or Donald?
I just got back from New Orleans. It was good to see family and friends, eat seafood, snowballs (there's nothing like New Orleans snowballs, the ice is shaved so fine and the flavor is good) and smell the magnolias and see the lily of the niles all blooming purplish and white flowers.
Wish I can grow them here in New Jersey.
